I have just learnt via e-mail that the Tohatoha blog and the work related to it connecting students, remote teaching and asynchronous collaboration; has earned me finalist status for this years Microsoft Innovative Teacher of the year award.

I now have to design a poster for display at Ulearn 08.  So look out for that if you are coming to Christchurch.

Well done David – more work to do in the next 2 weeks!!

2. davidit - September 16, 2008

Thanks Marnie. You are right more things to do in the next two weeks and have a week off in the holidays! I doubt that will happen, more midnight oil to be burned no doubt!

Snap- me too. May the best man (or woman) win! A trip to Kuala Lumpar would be nice. Not long to get creative. See you there.

Good luck

Quite right too. Well done David – well deserved! For Tohatoha – go for it!

5. Fiona - September 16, 2008

Very exciting David well done!

6. vicky Tubert - September 18, 2008

Congratulations and good luck at Ulearn Vicky T

7. davidit - September 18, 2008

Vicky, long time no hear! Will you be there? Would be good to catch up some time.

8. vicky - September 20, 2008

No I won,t be there but we can catch up after the conference
So much I have to share
I would have loved to go to Ulearn but my job has taken me in a different direction at this stage .I love your duck pictures
At school we have wild ducks living in the school grounds and swimming pool .They are having lots of ducklings at the moment
It is very much a part of our school culture
We need to arrange visits to your school or mine for us both so we can catch up professionally

Also we have some new facilities that may interest you
Good luck at Ulearn

Yeeha … I just caught up with this David.

Congratulations – is a well deserved acknowledgement of your own innovative practice ….

Innovation is one of those things that is in the eye of the beholder …

What I’d like to acknowledge here is the way in which you have also been a catalyst for innovation by the SustainED ictpd cluster teachers … your work as a facilitator encouraging teachers to take risks … to adopt innovative classroom practice wrt integrating ICTs into their teaching and learning.

Pam, thanks for that vote of confidence. You are right and to continue with the mixed metaphors one mans innovation is another’s poison! We shall see what drops out of it, I shall be hawking my stall as it were after breakout one at Ulearn, see you there. Should be fun!
